Preventative Care

The American Academy of General Dentistry strongly recommends preventative care via biannual teeth cleaning by your dentist or dental hygienist.  During your prophylaxis appointment, also known as a cleaning, you will receive diagnostic and preventive services which may include:  updating your medical history and review of any allergies, an oral soft and hard tissue exam, necessary diagnostic radiographs, if necessary a specialist referral, removal of plaque, stain and calculus, sealants and fluoride, polishing and flossing and oral hygiene instruction.
